MOTS-C 40 mg is a research material associated with mitochondrial-derived peptide investigations. Cellular metabolic signalling is a scientific research context; this does not establish effects in people.
MOTS-c is a mitochondrial-derived peptide described in the scientific literature as a sequence of 16 amino acids encoded within a short open reading frame in the mitochondrial 12S ribosomal RNA region. Research into this molecule examines communication between mitochondria and other cellular systems, extending beyond mitochondrial energy production.
Lee and colleagues reported links between MOTS-c, cellular metabolic pathways and AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) signalling. Subsequent work by Kim and colleagues examined its localisation within cells. Under the metabolic stress conditions studied, MOTS-c moved into the nucleus through an AMPK-dependent process and was associated with changes in nuclear gene expression.
The nuclear study also investigated interactions involving stress-responsive transcription factors, including NRF2. Together, these publications provide a basis for studying peptide localisation, mitochondrial–nuclear communication and cellular responses to changing metabolic conditions.
These findings describe particular experimental systems. They do not establish a universal response across cell types or confirm that a catalogue sample will reproduce the published observations. The identity, analytical characteristics and biological activity of MKM BioLabs MOTS-C 40 mg require their own evidence; literature findings do not replace material-specific documentation.

Two distinct report links are available for MOTS-C: a COA and a separately labelled heavy metals report. Read each test within its own scope. A result in one report should not be interpreted as a finding from the other test.

A report applies to its identified sample. Confirm relevance to the supplied material; do not assume it certifies every batch or product option. See the COA catalogue and our guide to reading peptide certificates.
Follow the material-specific documentation and your laboratory procedures. Record the product name, selected presentation, identifying label and storage history. Request instructions where they are missing; this page does not establish a batch-specific shelf life.
Read about HPLC and peptide purity, mass spectrometry and storage records in the Research Library. For catalogue comparison, view GHK-Cu; it is a separate research material with its own documentation.
Research use only. No medical, therapeutic, cosmetic or human-use suitability is claimed.
